Description
Made for cousin’s wedding shower. If my cousin is Superman (Superman Smoking Jacket – Robe [link] ), than his fiancée would have to be Lois Lane of course!
Altered McCall’s pattern M4724
Alpine fleece (100% polyester) in purple and white
Unknown “sparkle fleece” in light purple
Photo fabric
Acrylic paint with textile medium
The sparkle fleece was hand wash only so I wanted to use photo fabric to make the label (the photo fabric is hand wash or dry clean only). Since I wanted to put Superman on the Superman jacket, I got it into my head that Lois should be on the “Daily Planet” jacket. I wanted to use the Lois from the 1940’s Fleischer Superman cartoons, but I couldn’t really find pictures of her that would work for my purposes.
Enter She once again has done me a huge favor by drawing and coloring a Fleischer-like Lois.
~WolfenMoondaughter also did me a great favor by creating the template for the Daily Planet logo based on a photo I liked that I found doing a Google search. I had to alter her original template slightly to make it easier to do with the fabric (she had holes along the sides per the original picture and I had to alter her original ring). I made a stencil in the Alba font using cardstock to paint “Daily Planet” onto the ring.
