January Magnet - Snowflake

Pretty much the same as the Snowflake Magnet – prototype [link]

Differences:
I used floss that matches the background felt fairly well instead of white pearl cotton to stitch the snowflake to the background. I also used some of the Sulky® decorative thread (Silver Metallic in Opalescent) that I used in 3 Little Men from Snow are We [link] with the floss. The camera didn’t pick up the sparkle all that well.

Also instead of attempting to cut the background as a hexagon – the starting point for the snowflake pattern – I just attempted a circle that surrounded the snowflake.

I liked how the white pearl cotton looked on the edges of Snowflake Magnet – prototype, so I kept that the same here. What I really need to do is come up with a snowflake pattern that doesn’t have the tight curves. As you may be able to tell from this photo, the floss didn’t always want to lay along the edges of the white felt.

Felt, Sulky® decorative thread, 6 strand embroidery floss, pearl cotton, adhesive backed magnet.
