In order to get the pompoms I needed for my Grover figure I had to buy a multi-pack of pompoms. This of course means I have a bunch of pompoms left over.
While they are the wrong shade of green, I decided to make an Oscar figure. Since his color was off, I decided to make his trashcan black. I thought maybe the black trashcan would make it look like he was in high contrast or something. It made sense when I started the project.
Materials: Green pompoms (four; plus trimmings from pompoms) Felt (Black, white, and grey) Plastic canvas (Two 4-inch rounds that were trimmed down and part of a regular sheet) Pearl Cotton (Yellow was used to stitch the trashcan - it was handy; Black was used - after digging it out - for the lid's edges, wrapping the felt handle, and to sew the lid to the can) Scraps of batting (To fill out the can) Elmer's Glue-All (LOTS of it) Balsa wood (For sign) Black fabric marker (For pupils and sign) Mini brads ("Nail" for sign; "rivets" for trashcan lid handle)
EEEEE! I love it!!! Love his big mouth and his trash can and his sign ... Perfect! ^^
