Fuzzy Bunny Basket by UrsulaPatch Fuzzy Bunny Basket by UrsulaPatch
This is an entry for The Crafted Eastertide Contest.

Another basket - this time no handle.

While not what I originally imaged when I started these baskets, this one uses the cookie cutter I was looking for when I came up with Chocolate Bunny Basket. [link]

I have to say my favorite part of this basket will seldom be seen. I just love how the decorative stitches on the bottom turned out.

The bunny cookie cutter was traced, and then copied (reduced to 75% of the original tracing’s size). This was used as the template for the fuzzy bunny on the front of the basket.

Materials:

White craft felt left over from Chilly the Snowman Greeter [link]
Plastic mesh canvas left over from Chocolate Bunny Basket [link]
Plastic mesh canvas circle – from stash, purchased for a project that never was
Six strand embroidery floss – undivided, in four colors, from stash
Tan plush felt left over from May and `Gus [link]
Steam-a-seam 2 – scrap, leftover from who knows what project

Measures: 6 inches round, 3 inches tall.

No wonder the stitches took so long! It's pretty, though, so it was worth it! :) I think of the two, I like the other one a little more, though, but I like the ida of the body being fuzzy ...

Your stitches really are beautiful, so nice and even. I really love all of the bright and cheery colors of thread you've used for this, too! A very cute little basket!

Thanks! :thanks:

I wish I could take credit for the even stitches... but I cheated, I used the plastic canvas as a guide.
I had opened up a box of floss and saw the four colors together. I thought I had a nice little pastel rainbow going with my pink, yellow, green, and light blue/lilac flosses. Only to look them up to find out that my pink was peach (which I suspected anyway), and my lb/lilac is actually considered a grey! Oh well... I still like the combination. :)
